Juice Review: Yam-I-Am Strawberry from Detroit Rock Candy

I know.  You’re looking at the title and thinking to yourself “What do strawberries have to do with yams??”  Or “What’s a strawberry yam?”  These questions pondered quite a few people when it first came out, but Strawberry Yam I Am is an interesting twist to an already popular flavor (and you can read all about that one here).

“Sweet potato, sugar cookie with a strawberry marshmallow sauce drizzle.” is how the website describes the flavor.  Let’s take a closer look.

Packaging: The bottle takes an all too familiar approach to “Yam I Am” with a Dr. Seuss type font that might grab your attention from the get-go.  Strawberries adorn the background of the lettering.  The top of the label shows the detroitrockcandy.com website in small lettering.  The left side shows the nicotine addictive warning, ISO-6 icon, and nic level.

Flavor: Yams don’t really play into this flavor experience.  I get more of a sweet sugar cookie and strawberry mix on the inhale.  Yams help to give the taste of real strawberries on this with the faint hint of sugar cookie in the background.  Marshmallows give more of a sweet and gooey exhale.  The taste experience is quite literally unlike anything you have ever experienced before.

Cloud Production: 80/20 blend.  Solid cloud performance but with some cotton gunking behind the helm.  I have never had an issue on clouds with Detroit Rock Candy brands.  Full body and form.

Bottle Size: 60ml glass bottle

Nicotine Strength: 0mg, 3mg, 6mg

Final Thoughts: While it might be a stretch to link this to Yam I Am, I think the taste experience is quite pleasurable.  If you want something different and something sweet, this might be right up your alley!

This juice is amazing. If you like dessert flavors, and you haven’t tried this one yet, you have no idea what you are missing out of.
