Juice Review: Macchiato from Nitro’s Cold Brew Coffee

As I started to take in the surroundings at Vape Showcase in Dallas last weekend, I noticed something very eye-catching.  The banner read “The World’s First Cold Brew” in big bold letters.  As I saw the banner going up during Friday’s setup, I said to myself “Shut–up!!”  At that point, I knew I had to try it.

Sure enough, this made quite the impression on others at the show.  One of their flavors received the “Best Beverage” award…but we’ll get to that one soon.  This time, I want to take a look at the Macchiato flavor.

Packaging: This 100ml bottle shows the logo “Nitro’s Cold Brew Coffee” with a little frost on the corners, the flavor “Macchiato” underneath, and ice cubes covered in coffee at the bottom.  Far right hand side shows their Instagram handle (@nitroscoldbrew) and nicotine strength.  Left side shows warnings, ingredients, and a very subtle PG/VG note (we’ll get to that in a minute).

Flavor: So what is a macchiato?  It is an espresso with just a quick shot of foamed milk.  Sometimes you will see it mixed with a flavor like caramel to bring out more of the flavor notes.  In this case, the flavor came across with more of a caramel flavor than I was probably expecting.  In all honesty, this isn’t a bad thing.  The rich caramel notes mixed with a very light and subtle coffee flavor underneath.  In all honesty, an iced macchiato doesn’t really have a strong coffee flavor anyway, does it?

The menthol (yes it’s menthol and not Koolada) is at just the right ratio.  It’s easy to get carried away with menthol flavoring, as it can completely overtake your vape.  Yet I feel that this combination gave the solid impression of an iced coffee beverage from Dunkin’ Donuts or Starbucks.  Well played, gentlemen!!

Cloud Production: I said earlier that the label is subtle with the PG/VG ratio.  The only thing this lists in the ingredients is 80% vegetable glycerin.  Maybe this explains the incredible cloud production on this one.  I’m sure the menthol also helps to open up the airways a little easier, creating even better clouds.  As far as the cotton goes, this can do a number on your coils so don’t be surprised.

Bottle Size: 100ml

Nicotine Strength: 0mg, 3mg, 6mg

Final Thoughts: To be the world’s first cold brew vape, this is a solid base to an incredible experience.  Even if you don’t like any coffee vapes you have tried in the past, I would highly recommend giving it a shot.  The menthol is just light enough to create that iced experience without being a “menthol” vape.
