I grew up in the south in a traditional family setting, yet nowhere did “marmalade” ever come up. I kind of had an idea of what it is, but wasn’t totally sure. Even if I knew, I sure couldn’t tell you what it tasted like. Soo…I took a little trip over to Google to get an idea.
Marmalade generally refers to a fruit preserve made from the juice and peel of citrus fruits boiled with sugar and water. It can be produced from kumquats, lemons, limes, grapefruits, mandarins, sweet oranges, bergamots, and other citrus fruits, or any combination of them.
The website lists the flavor as this:
“The complex, tangy flavor of our Blackberry Marmalade captures the warm, earthy days of late summer in every exhale. This blend will give you a luxurious taste of what real marmalade is suppose to taste like.”
Presentation: This 60ml bottle comes in a small white carton with “Marmalade” written long ways on the front. Each bottle has a color that corresponds with the fruit flavor associated with it, in this case purple. The back has a very lengthy warning regarding FDA, legal age, “not a smoking cessation product”, along with Prop 65. There is also icons for Facebook and Instagram pages and the website (which I will link at the bottom of the article). The bottle replicates that information on a frosted glass bottle that just exudes elegant. I knew right away that if even if I didn’t enjoy this, a lot of work went into the presentation.
Flavor: I like blackberry flavors. There is a blend of sweet and tangy with a depth that’s hard to find in most fruit flavors, and this has it. Everything from the aroma after opening the bottle all the way to the first inhale screams blackberry in it’s purest form. It doesn’t overpower the overall experience, however. Couple this with an almost milky/creamy undertone at the end of the exhale and you’ve got a very well balanced vape experience.
I do find myself wishing for a little extra depth, however. I think this would go beautifully mixed with a waffle flavor or a custard. There was a pretty solid mix of high notes with enough mid notes to give me a very satisfying vape. However, part of me wished for a slightly richer blackberry (personal preference). As much as I tried searching for it, the bottle was gone before I knew it!
Cloud Production: The consistency of the liquid gives every indication of a 80VG/20PG ratio, and the clouds are there to back it up. What impressed me is the smoothness of the clouds and how clean my cotton maintained throughout the entire bottle. This isn’t bombarded with sweeteners and instead relies on the flavor alone.
All in all, I was very happy with the overall vape and I’m sure my cotton was too!
